Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain has revealed that new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was indeed interested in signing him but he felt more wanted with AC Milan. The striker had been the subject of a transfer tussle between the duo but ultimately, the Rossoneri won the race for his signature after agreeing upon his initial loan move from Juventus.

Speaking to reporters, Higuain acknowledged the interest from the former Napoli boss but stressed the manager was supposedly the only one keen on the move, he said: “I have huge respect for Sarri, but he was the only one who wanted me at Chelsea.
